Our spay/neuter assistance program has limited funds available each month to help pet owners and feral colony caretakers spay/neuter the pets in their care (limit three pets per voucher.)  Vouchers are worth $25 off a dog spay or neuter and $15 off a cat spay or neuter.  To request a voucher, please contact the shelter at (513) 735-2299.  League vouchers can be used at the UCAN clinic or with any other veterinarian that will accept them.  We suggest that voucher recipients ask the vet of their choice whether they accept the League’s voucher before making the appointment for spay/neuter surgery.

Get the Facts:

Spaying or neutering your pet will not make him/her fat or lazy. Overfeeding and lack of exercise make pets fat.

Spaying or neutering your pet can decrease the risk of diseases that are expensive to treat.

Neutered cats are less likely to spray (urine-marking). Neutered dogs are less likely to roam or have aggression problems. Any changes in your pet’s disposition after the surgery will be positive.

More than 33,000 adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized every year in the tri-state area alone simply because there are not enough homes for all of them.
