What an amazing young boy!  Looking for a smart boy who has some energy?  Whiff wants to “work” and learn something new every day.  Are you familiar with border collies?  He is an extrememly intelligent boy who is looking for the right home.  He is working on loose-lead walking and crate training.  Whiff seems to enjoy playing with the other dogs and would be a great companion.  Whiff is just full of life and happy in every situation he is put in.  He was found as a very thin stray at Eastfork Lake Park and was rescued by a good samaritan who brought him to us.

Mea is about 4 or 5 years old, spayed, current on shots, had both ACLs taken care of, and is little bit on the shy side when you first meet her.  She is an awesome dog who had the benefit of living with her own personal dog trainer, and that trainer says Mea is the easiest dog she’s ever had to train!  Mea needs to be the pampered pet in a one-dog home.   For more information, contact Donna at mydiamondgirl36@hotmail.com.

The people who saw me living on my own thought I was feral and set a trap to catch me.  I really fooled them!  I knew if I got in the trap and they found out how terrific I am, I would get a place to stay.  I worked beautifully.  I am such a neat looking big boy.  As you can see I really like to eat.  Although I’m a large cat, I’m really just a big baby.  I love to sit on laps and snuggle and will come as soon as you call me.  My size must intimidate some of the other cats here because sometimes they will hiss at me, but I just ignore them.  I’m much more interested in the people coming in to love on me.  This is a great place, but just the first step in my plan when I got in the trap.  The next step is a real home of my own!

Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.  Sorry, but it’s hard to be modest when you’re as gorgeous as I am.  But more important than my outside beauty is my wonderful personality.  I had a wonderful life until the apartment complex where I lived changed their rules about pets.  Life can be very hard but I know there is another home waiting for me.  I just love attention and will greet you at the door.  If you do not pay attention to me, I will stand on my hind legs and beg for you to pet me.  I love everyone, every cat, every dog, every child, as long as you have lots of time to love me back.  I am declawed in front, and if you’re ready for some perfection wrapped up in luxurious fur, then you better hurry up and come take me home.

Why do some people have to be allergic to cats?  It caused me to lose my happy home.  I was very happy there and very much loved.  It was hard to lose my home and I’m still adjusting to this new place, so please seek me out.  I am declawed in front, have beautiful eyes that will melt your heart and a great personality too.  I used to follow my person around all the time and beg for her to pet and love on me.  I really miss the individual attention.  I’m used to living with children and really want another home as wonderful as my last one.

I was found as a very pregnant stray.  Thank goodness I had a safe place to stay when I gave birth to my six wonderful kittens.  They have all found homes so my work is done and I can now start having some fun of my own.  I am very outgoing and will happily greet you at the door.  I am very curious and enjoy exploring my new room.  I am also very affectionate and love to be carried around in your arms.  Bird watching is my favorite pastime and I would love a home with a big window, so I can sunbath and watch birds at the same time. This young boxer girl has so much potential.  Laela has had it rough but is coming out on top.  She is making sure that everyone knows she won’t give up!  Laela is such a great dog and she will not last long here.  She is true to her breed, so it may be a second or two before a wet kiss comes your way!  She was in a foster home for a few weeks while she was recovering from leg surgery and did very well.  Laela is a smart girl who already knows some basic commands.  As we said, she is a great dog!!

I was wandering around with no place to go. I quickly found out there was some not so nice things in the world. I had bites on my paws and was very lethargic and in pain. I saw a nice, comfortable porch, so I decided to take a long nap. When I woke up there was a very nice lady fussing over me. I found out she was a cat lover but already had several of her own, so she found this place for me to stay. I am a really quiet, gentle cat. I love to be petted and sit on laps. I am very content being with the other cats. After all I have been through I would love a home where I will be safe and loved. I promise to show you how grateful I am every day.

I am a really special cat because I am polydactyl, which means I have an extra toe on each of my front paws. I am a big guy and you will have a surprise when you play with me. I can jump higher than any other cat at the shelter! This is a nice place but I really don’t like the other cats and would prefer to have a home where I am the one and only. I love to sit on the porch off my room and watch the birds. I don’t really like to be picked up, but when I am in the mood for some love will jump on your lap to get attention. I would really like a home with someone who will appreciate my uniqueness.

What a cutie boy!!  Stiles was brought in as stray with two other dogs.  He has come a long way, even though he still needs some guidance.  He is a very shy boy when you first meet him, but once he gets to know you, he will win your heart and show you his true colors.  Stiles enjoys other dogs and that seems to really boost his confidence.  He finally learned “sit” and is now working on some other basic commands.  His new trick is to find any toy around the shelter, take it and hide it just for himself!

I had a home at one time, but something happened and I ended up on the streets.  A nice woman who liked cats found me, but since she lived in an apartment, she couldn’t keep me.  She was very sad because, as you can see, I am a very handsome boy.  I also have a great personality and will happily greet you when you come to visit.  I love to interact with people of all ages and like the other cats that are here.  My favorite things are to play with feathers, and then when I an all worn out, to cuddle up and take a nap.  I would really like to have a home with a special someone to cuddle up with.

Why is it that some people are allergic to cats? It just doesn’t seem fair. I was happy in my home and then bang, a family member becomes allergic and here I am. I really loved my home and still adjusting to my new surroundings here. I’m almost afraid to relax! I really want a new home. I am declawed and can be very sweet and loving. I do get a little excited when petted and I may give you a “love bite”. I don’t mean to hurt, but I just get excited. I know that if I can find another loving family to live with I will be able to calm down and concentrate on being the perfect companion.

I am so happy to be here. I know that sounds strange but my sister and I shared our old home with a really big, really aggressive dog. He did not like us at all and we lived in fear every day. Not only was he bigger than me, but I’m declawed so I had no way to defend myself. I am a very affectionate cat and have a special purr just for anyone who will show me attention. I love children and other cats but, please, no more dogs! I can’t wait for a home of my own where I can run free, play and show my family affection without worry!

Rockie has become a favorite among many of our volunteers and staff.  He was surrendered by his owner when she lost her job and had to move out of state to live with another family member>  She couldn’t take all of her animals and had to give up Rockie.  He was not comfortable or happy with “kennel” life at first.  It took him some time to adjust, however he now looks forward to his several walks a day.  Rockie is one smart boy who does attach to someone quickly.  looking for a companion to hang out with?  Walk with?  Play with?  And then relax with?  Rockie is on his way of being that dog!  He enjoys riding in cars and romping outside with his friends, but would probably do best as an only dog.  After all, why would you need another dog if you have a dog like Rockie!!

This is a gorgeous boy.  He so badly wants to meet people and get attention, but he is terrified to do so.  Fletcher is one shy boy, however, thanks to his dedicated volunteers, he is pulling through his fear beautifully.  He just needs some patience, confidence and to learn how to trust.  Fletcher was transferred from another shelter and is ready for his permanent home.  He thrives on attention and learning lots of new things.  He also likes playing with other furry friends at the shelter, so another dog in the home would be fine with him.

Rey is one happy little man!  He is a spirited Jack Russell through and through, even though he is mixed with chihuahua.  he will win you over with his friendly personality and eagerness to please.  Just make sure that you know the breed before you come check him out to adopt.  He came to us when his former owner moved and planned to have him put to sleep because she couldn’t take him with her.  Luckily a good Samaritan intervened and Rey came to us to wait for another home.

What a gorgeous girl!  Jessy came to us from another rescue.  We don’t know a whole lot about her background, but she does seem to relate well to kids.  She is an amazing dog with so much potential.  We are working with her on her crate training, leash walking and general socializing.  We think that she will make a great family dog for someone who is willing to continue to work with her.  She wants to learn - just give her a chance!

Hurry up and come to the shelter to check out this girl!  Although she is a lab MIX, her behavior is young lab, lab, lab and more lab!!  She is not very “happy” here at the shelter and is looking to get a home of her own.  She was adopted as a puppy, but returned after a few months when her owners got divorced.  She was quickly re-adopted, but returned again after nearly seven months when the family decided that they could longer keep her.  Peanut is a happy-go-lucky girl who is alwasy excited to see ANYONE!!!

This young man has a great deal of potential, as well as a great deal of energy!!  Helmut was given up by his owner when the family moved and couldn’t take Helmut with them.  Helmut just needs some consistency in his life, and he will be a great companion.  We are working with him on some basic commands, such as “heel”, “sit”, “down” and crate training.  He is doing very well and is very smart.

This little girl came to us from another shelter.  When she first came here, she was pretty fearful.  However, we gave her a huge, plush comforter and she settled in for the night.  Since thern, this little one will go up to everyone and anything and just wants attention!  We are working on building her confidence and her crate training.  She seems to enjoy the compnay of other four-legged friends and likes to tell them what to do, in spite of the fact that she only weighs 12 pounds!

I had no home and was very lucky someone found me and brought me here.  I don’t think I could have taken the streets much longer.  When I was found I was very thin with not much hair left.  I so glad I didn’t have to spend the cold winter outside!  I am very glad to be here but still adjusting to living with roommates.  I am just too young to have gone through so much and I am more than ready for the easy life.  All I need is a warm home, loving people who will let me sit on their laps and lots of good food.  I will be very low maintenance for all the love you will receive in return.

Why do apartment owners not allow great cats like me to live in their buildings? That’s why I lost my home and it’s just not fair. I mean, I am just about perfect. Not only do I have adorable markings on my face but I am very lovable and friendly. I am still young and love to play but then I like to settle down on your lap and have my ears scratched. You shouldn’t have any problem finding me when you visit as I love attention. Once you spend time with me you will fall in love!

I was pregnant and living in the woods when I found a building where I could have my babies. I had four beautiful kittens and the kind person who owned the building let me stay and took care of me while I raised my babies. When they could, the League took us in and found homes for my babies and now it’s my turn. I am a little shy but with just a little sweet talk I turn into a real sweetheart. I love to be petted and will respond by rubbing up on you and purring. I think I would like a quiet home with people who will appreciate my laid back personality. Other cats would be fine.

When you are five years old, the last thing you expect to happen is to be dumped off at East Fork Lake. I was really scared. I had no idea what I was going to do. Fortunately, someone found me and brought me to the League’s shelter. I am now trying to adjust again to a new place. When I first got here, I hid because everything was so different. I now realize that all these people here are really nice. I am coming out to meet people and curling up in their arms. I can’t wait until I have a home all my own.

I was found as a stray and I was lucky that the person cared enough to find me a safe place.  I would describe myself as a “people cat”.  I love people and will sit on your lap and settle down for a nice nap.  I am so happy when I’m getting attention from the visitors here.  This is a nice place but there is one problem.  There are other cats here!  Other cats just do not appeal to me.  I want to be the only one getting attention, pets, toys; well you get the point.  I just don’t like to share.   If you are looking for a cat to be your one and only love then look no further.  Trust me, you won’t miss the others.

I’m still not sure why my owner just dropped me off at a store. I thought they loved me. I am a very gentle, loving girl and love to be held in your arms.
