League-Stroll

Whether it’s an hour or most of a day, once a week or just once in awhile – if you’ve got the time, we’ve got the place!

For much of its 67-year history, the League has relied on volunteers to fulfill its mission to reduce the number of homeless cats and dogs in Greater Cincinnati by providing a compassionate
no-kill animal shelter and programs that promote responsible pet care.  That tradition of volunteer involvement is at the heart of all we are and all we do, and it remains as strong as ever.

Kitten-PlayIndeed, on any given day you can find volunteers of all ages helping shelter staff ensure that our resident animals receive the kind of one-on-one care and attention that sets the League apart.

Volunteers contribute their time and talents across a wide range of chosen activities, from walking dogs and socializing kittens to answering phones, weeding gardens and assisting at League events.

Monthly volunteer orientation sessions help familiarize new volunteers with shelter practices and procedures, and our friendly staff members are always available to offer pointers on dealing with the needs of individual animals.

The League’s warm and welcoming lobby, beautiful grounds, immaculate kennel areas and cheerfully appointed cat rooms make volunteering a pleasure – and a great family activity. Plus, volunteering at the League is a good way to make new friends while making a real difference in your community.

Puppy-PlayThe League recognizes the contributions of its many volunteers in ways large and small throughout the year, but none is more important than our Volunteer Appreciation Event to honor those whose compassionate caring make the League the truly exceptional place it is.

So don’t wait — sign up today. There’s somebody soft and furry just waiting to meet you!
