The League for Animal Welfare is a leading advocate for spaying and neutering pets in the Greater Cincinnati community.
Not only does this make for healthier pets who have fewer behavioral issues, but it is the only way to reduce pet overpopulation and the number of unwanted dogs and cats that contribute to this area’s notoriously high rates of euthanasia at public shelters.
In the first six months of 2014, more than 1,316 cats and dogs were able to be “fixed” in this way. Last year, the number was 1,593 for the entire year!
The League provides vouchers for low-cost spay/neuter surgeries only to those that use the UCAN and OAR listed below. The vouchers are worth $50 toward the price of a
dog spay/neuter and $30 toward the cost of a cat spay/neuter.
Convenient transports to OAR , a low-cost spay/neuter clinic -are regularly scheduled for animal pick-ups and returns at the League.
Cat-only spay/neuter transport and clinic appointments at Ohio Alleycat Resources can be made by phoning OAR directly at (513)871-0185. The OAR transports also run monthly from the League, usually in the third week of the month. After securing your appointment, simply call the League for a voucher.
The League is grateful to the Joanie Bernard Foundation for the $125,000 grant awarded in 2014 for our spay/neuter voucher program! We also appreciate the generosity of other foundations and individual donors who also support this much-needed community resource. Thank you for helping make a difference!
A nearby monthly transport to the UCAN non-profit, spay/neuter clinic is available for both dogs and cats. Please schedule your appointment with UCAN at (513)721-7387 then call the League to obtain a voucher.
Vouchers are emailed directly to pet owners and are valid from the first of the month to the end of the month for your convenience. Vouchers must presented to the clinic at the time of service.
